We know you are busy and usually on the run. That’s why we provide private changing rooms, lavatories, and shower facilities. And hair dryers!
Who designed this great space? Laura Sanchez Penichet and Carlos Rodriguez Bernal of the award-winning firm, SPRB Arquitectos. They knew that having a beautiful yet energizing environment enhances the Pilates experience, and that’s what they created! Their design reflects our branding concept, incorporating the images and jazzy colors found in our logo as well as ideas that are central to Pilates.
In fact, the integration of Pilates’ concepts begins with the studio entrance, a portal which echoes the box found in our logo. The box theme is central to Pilates’ focus on the core, which is the square formed by the shoulders and hips when in alignment. SPBR extended this theme to other parts of the studio, so, when you work out, the images that surround you subtly help you focus on proper technique!
By the way – we referred to SPRB Arquitectos as “award winning.” That’s not hyperbole! Here’s the scoop: Laura Sanchez Penichet and Carlos Rodriguez Bernal recently were presented in London with the 2011 International Hotel Award for new hotel construction, as winners in the categories of Best Hotel Architecture in Mexico and Best Hotel Architecture in the Americas. Pilates Challenge is honored to be their NYC debut!
